Highbanks Metro Park | April 2019
There are people in central Ohio who live with hunger and we are angry about it. That is why we are “Running Cause We’re Hangry.” Please join us on April 21, 2018, at Highbanks Metro Park for a multi-distance run/walk event. All proceeds from the race will be given to FEEDdelaware for a new program helping undernourished school aged students.
This year we are bringing some extra challenges with offering multiple distances. If you are up for the extra fun, register for the 10k or 15k! The 5k will be the same loop we have done previously (perhaps we will do it backwards), the 10k will have its own course, and the 15k gets to have the excitement of doing both of them!
Because we respect the trails and the metro parks so much, we do have a limit on the participants we will have on the trail during the event. Limit of 250 participants total in 5k, 10k, and 15k. Limit of 50 participants in kids fun run.

FEEDdelaware is expanding its reach through FEEDdempsey. FEEDdempsey serves students who qualify for the free/reduced lunch program of Dempsey Middle School. Studies have shown that children who qualify for free/reduced lunch often experience food insecurity during the weekends and return to school undernourished. Through FEEDdempsey, volunteers pack individual weekend meal bags for kids and their families. After these bags are delivered to Dempsey Middle School, guidance counselors distribute the weekend meal bags on Friday to qualifying students. By providing supplemental food bags FEEDdempsey will help families and kids through the weekend. For example, a student and his family can expect the following, or similar options: shelf stable milk, cereal, canned vegetables, raisins, mandarin oranges, applesauce, macaroni & cheese, tuna or other meal helpers. There are 400+ students at Dempsey Middle School who currently qualify for free/reduced lunch programs.
We are using RunGo to mark share our course this year. RunGo is a great app that can keep you on the trail and also gives verbal cues when to turn or when course points are coming up.
The course consist of a 5k loop, a 10k loop, and if you are doing the 15k you have the pleasure of doing both! Links for the routes are below.
